| In Loving Memory of Dancing Paws (Paws) 3/1/91 - 7/6/01 |
|
It was the Saturday morning, one week after my Doberman, King had died. My sister and nephew wanted to look at retired
racing Greyhounds, but I didn't want one of those "skinny, funny looking dogs with the big noses." A half hour later
we were off to the Recycled Racers kennel.
There was only one female available that day (Dancing Paws) and I found nothing attractive about her except that she and my Irish Setter hit it off immediately. My nephew wanted her to come home with us, and finally I said yes. Dancing Paws was shy for about 30 seconds, but then came into the house like she owned the place! She has been the joy of my life ever since. On July 6, 2001, while lying at my feet, Paws took her last breath and left me. She had never been ill a day in her life. She helped me to become more outgoing and get involved with Greyhound adoption. Through her I have made good friendships. I hope that I have given her half as much as she has given me. Paws graced my life for 6 short years. I will always have Greyhounds as pets because of her. I want to say thank you to Recycled Racers for having the perfect hound for me and also thank you to Torri Morris who bred and raised her. Thanks for giving me the greatest friend of my life. I love you Paws. Judith Lutsky |
